My worst sports injury ever took place during wrestling. I was facing a girl that had absolutely no idea what she was doing (those will kill you).
What sucks is I said the magic words right before... 'oh, no, you're not gonna hurt me.' AHHHHHHH!!!
Anyway, she wrapped her leg around one of mine and nudged my knee cap to the side. To get out of one of her holds, I jumped up and landed directly on my knees...popping and locking the knee cap right out of place. I was nearly screaming.
I couldn't shift it back, and my leg was bent without being able to move. I had to hold it up in the air as the people around me debated on whether or not to call an ambulance. Eventually I let them know that I couldn't even move to sit up or wiggle my toes, so there was no way they were going to get me into the car to take a doctor.
All in all, it was my first ambulence ride. And my first ever shot of morphine, because they was no way they were going to move me without it. The dislocation tore muscle and tendon, and I discovered I had very little mobility with that leg the next day, and for a while after. To this day I still wiggle my knee cap as I tell this story to my more squeemish friends.

Ouch, I am cringing to think of it. Some of the worst sports injuries I have ever seen have been on the wrestling mat. I really think that a lot of it has to do with the terrible diets of these kids trying to make weight. Fortunately my daughter managed to escape injury. She just inflicted it. Broke her coaches finger and nose. The team never let him live it down.. not only did he get busted up (TWICE) but it was by a 112 and a GIRL. Anyway, I hope your injury healed fully, it sounds really nasty.
