Fatal injury- a cautionary tale (by Zamma Jannan)

So I don't want to be a downer here, but here is my cautionary tale...My father was extreme in everything he did. Motorcycles, Scubadiving, tree climbing, you name it. He was with some buddies and decided to jump from a bridge into a river. Many other people had made the jump earler. He jumped, but sadly didn't survive due to low water levels caused by a powerplant upstream. He was 39 years old. He knew better but got excited for the adreneline rush and became careless. Plese people, risk taking is fun, but don't take unnecessary risks, and use your heads.

I like risky things but never really liked diving into rivers or lakes I was not totally sure about. Sorry to hear.

Yeah, the crazy old fool took too many chances. I like to jump into water from cliffs, waterfalls, bridges, trees, whatever (hmmmm wonder where I learned THAT from?) but I always check the depth carefully first even if it is someplace I have been before(ironicly something I learned from my father), because you never know if the conditions have changed (like there could be large boulders that fell in there, or somebody could throw something in. But still I know I'm taking the risk even if you are careful things can happen.. BUT it's just so much FUN

Do you know why we love risk taking activities? It is because life has become so mundane and unexciting. This is truer if you have a sedentary job. So by taking those highly risk sport, we can at least have some fun in our life.
