how about diving/snorkling (by Bryan Lambert)

Well, how about it? Diving and/or snorkling. I used to be heavy into snorkling (especially at night - there is nothing like it). I did give it up somewhat when I got married because my wife didn't like the idea of me being part of the food chain (the recent shark attack here (San Diego) doesn't help matters).. I think it'd be an interesting thing to add.

Bryan, we will consider it. all my inlaws are into diving and go on lots of trips.

Ohhh, snorkling! You know, I would love to learn about it. I keep seeing ads for these schools down in Florida, not too far from me.

I used to be into night snorkling big time, but when I got married my wife didn't like the idea of my being "part of the food chain" so I stick to days now.

I'm sorry to sound like a newbie, but what exactly is snorkling? Can anyone please tell me?

Every time I check a thread on this forum I realize more and more how few things I've tried when it comes to the outdoors. Sigh.

Snorkeling is swimming near the surface of a body of water and peering down at what's below you while breathing through one of these beauties. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Snorkel.JPG

I would love it if you had a forum on here for diving. There is a great source for information called Dive Now, an online magazine. A lot of people are getting back into diving especially on the west coast.
