Is it sound to go climbing alone? (by Eugen Suman)

One unspoken rule of the mountain is to never go hiking or climbing alone. Can you still do it, as an extreme sort of variation? Or do you think it's too dangerous.

Dont go alone. it is not extreme just dumb.

ItR17;s always better to take one with you if you are planning to have fun with climbing. Climbing alone may be dangerous as well as risky.

I think most of the people who suggest that something is more 'mainly' if you do it alone are bound for a wheelchair later in their lives, if not an early grave.

I don't think doing any extreme sports alone would be smart plus having someone with you to share the experiences is always more fun.

I would never go alone, there is a difference between extreme and unsafe. Even those who are into extreme sports know that there is always a way to do things with safety in mind.

Going by your self is taking a risk that is better to not take.

In the Pacific Northwest when evr you hear of a climber getting killed or lost it is because he was alone. This is the type of sport that just requires a partner just in case.

Sometimes taking the risks isn't good enough. We may not know what might happen when you're up there. Weather anywhere is erratic. So better take necessary precautions, bring along your best buddy and enjoy it together.
