Near death experience (by Eugen Suman)

I've had a near death experience whilst doing some climbing. We've set up tent on the mountain, near a spring. We've even placed our food in the trees, so that bears won't come snooping around, but they did anyway. I've heard noises and such, and then I felt a heavy body touching my tent, very fast. I think it was a bear. That was really scary. I thought I'd surely die then. Anyone else with scary stories?

I almost hit a baby bear in snowmass while DH biking. I almost wet myself.

Where's a baby bear, there's bound that his mother be close by. And you don't want to mess with momma bear, he he

When I was 12 and climbing a local mountain with my big bro, a snake attacks me and even left its poison inside my body. I was soon admitted to hospital. I was in emergency wards for about 29 hours. Fortunately, I was slightly escaped through death that day and now today IR17;m here sharing my experience in this forum.

I nearly went OVER a cliff when I was a kid. I was on a flimsy plastic toboggan, flying down a big hill near the lake, when the brakes failed. The ice kept my going, right over the edge of the cliff down towards the edge of a the lake (a drop of at least fifty feet onto rocks).

Naturally I went all superhero at the last second and leapt from the toboggan, grabbing a plant. Managed to hang for a few seconds before I pulled myself up. Wasn't scared a bit, somehow, but all I heard from above was 'OH MY GOD, HE'S DEAD!'

Good fun.

I havent had any near death experiences yet. Several clumsy stupid moments that could have ended badly though, dont like to talk about those hehe. Very lucky I am :)

I haven't had an experience like these but in Washington state there are always stories of hikers getting lost and such. You really have to be prepared at all times and for anything.
