Another question - since I am new to skiing, what places would you recommend that I visit that is good for beginners?

Buttermilk Mountain Aspen Colorado. This mountain is almost totaaly beginners. You can actually see some of the trails on the trail maps page. Also, you can get a bunny slope season pass for just under $60. Also, just before, during, and after the xgames(held at buttermilk)BUttermilk relocates its bunny slope to the top of the mountain. This means you have to take the main lift up. you can usually ski the side lifts and even down the main lift a few times on the bunny pass. It is a loop whole. So if you plan it right you can warm up and learn on the bunny slope then get some longer blue and green runs in and maybe even catch the Xgames all for under $100 bucks. Also, there are 3 other more advanced mountains just a few miles away.
